Testimonials

Going to Crossfit Avalanche has been the most consistent work out program that I have ever committed myself to. It works, it's motivating, inspirational, and super fun. Having worked with both Travis and Myles before they started the gym, I've developed a personal relationship built with a lot of trust in them. My health and body are incredibly important to me as it is my job to maintain a certain level of athletic capability. Thanks to Crossfit and the community that both Travis and Myles have created, I have exceeded my expectations and feel stronger now than I ever have. The environment that Crossfit Avalanche provides is one that pushes you more than you ever would on your own. Working out, side by side, with others fosters persistence and I can honestly say that I have never pushed myself harder, had better results, and felt as strong as I do now thanks to Crossfit Avalanche.

I started CrossFit on October 19, 2010 after my co-worker and friend Nina started going a few months earlier. I was just trying to lose weight. My heaviest was 330 lbs. Well, that’s when I stopped weighing myself… Now I’m sitting around 260 lbs. It's hard to believe I have been going to CrossFit Avalanche for three years. I am not so much hung up on my weight, but how I eat, and am always trying to get better at lifts and workouts. I’ve made some great friends, and the coaching is top notch. These guys and girls are always there for you, never letting you skimp on your form for a better time. They want us all to be healthy. I could go on and on, but I just have to say CrossFit Avalanche and the people in it have truly changed my life.

High intensity workouts are the most productive and efficient for getting stronger. There are a lot of risks involved when working out in this style, making it essential to be able to trust your trainer. I have put my trust in Travis for 10 years of training throughout my snowboarding career, and I'm continually challenged and becoming the strongest I've ever been thanks to training at CrossFit Avalanche and CrossFit Blizzard.

I would like to thank Travis and Myles along with the entire staff at both Blizzard and Avalanche for the continued motivation and positive energy toward reaching my fitness goals. Having now been a part of the Crossfit Blizzard family for over a year, I find myself with a new found energy and physical condition. These people have changed my life and made me feel as though I am 20 years old again. That's Crossfit for ya! Now having been to several Crossfit gyms around the country, I am amazed by the professionalism exuded at Blizzard and Avalanche. I could go on and on here about how much I think this gym is the absolute best, but really you need to come experience it for yourself. All it takes is for you to walk through the front door and see for yourself the positive influence in your own life that Crossfit brings. These guys and gals are the best at what they do! Thank you for the inspiration!

As a long time runner, I had never even considered working out in a gym.  After having 2 kids and turning 41, I decided to nervously wander into Crossfit. Almost immediately I went from intimidated to inspired by the supportive community at Crossfit Blizzard & Avalanche. Working with the top notch trainers has completely changed the way I understand my fitness and overall health. Through their patient advice, individual attention and support, I am learning to push myself through the tough workouts; striving with each one to improve.  Within a short 8 months, I found myself in the best shape I had ever been in.  I then ran a difficult and competitive 125 kilometer ultrarun and had a finish far beyond what I ever dreamed I could do physically.  I now look forward to stepping it up a notch and can't wait to see what happens next year.   Finding my way into that gym was a total life changer; Travis, Kelly, Myles and Jason are truly exceptional; they go beyond their roles as trainers and are thoughtful, supportive, inspiring, engaging, and a pleasure to be around.

I joined Crossfit Blizzard in 2011, a mom of two small kids, my goal was simple: I wanted to get in shape and lose the last of the weight I had gained in my back-to-back pregnancies. Goal achieved. Weight lost.

I realize now that I came into Blizzard to lose but ended up gaining so much:

  • Top-notch and individualized coaching; the focus always on proper form, technique and safety; modifications as needed; always an encouraging word.

  • A community of encouraging and supportive friends; a group who cheers each other on, pushes each other to great things and celebrates everyone's accomplishments.

  • An appreciation for my body, not for what it looks like, but for all it can do!

  • Muscle definition in places I didn't know I had muscles!

  • That beautiful and important sense of self-pride in completing a challenge that initially looked daunting and unattainable.

  • A time in my day that is all mine. Being a mom and wife means I am pulled in lots of different directions and a lot of what I do in my day, I do for others. But my hour at Blizzard is my time, for me, and creates the balance I need to be there fully for my family.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Crossfit Blizzard. It is a special place that really brings out the best in people and in community.
